BNT COMPANY DANCER

Raised in Danvers, MA, Alexis Breen began her ballet training at Boston Ballet School under the direction of Margaret Tracey and Jessica Kreyer. In 2016, Alexis had the opportunity to join the BalletMet as a Trainee, where she studied under Edwaard Liang and Maria Torija. Alexis then began attending Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music Ballet Department in 2018 as a Premier Young Arts Scholar. She trained under Chair Sarah Wroth, as well as the other esteemed faculty members, including Michael Vernon, Kyra Nichols, Carla Körbes, Sasha Janes, and Christian Claessens. While at IU, she performed principal and soloist roles in many ballets, including George Balanchine’s Agon, Edwaard Liang’s Für Alina, Twyla Tharp’s Deuce Coupe, August Bournonville’s Pas de Sept, and Michael Vernon’s The Nutcracker. Alexis graduated in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Ballet and Arts Management.

Upon graduation, Alexis joined the Louisville Ballet as a Studio Company Artist for the 2022-2023 season. She performed in many works with the company, including George Balanchine’s Scotch Symphony, Ching Ching Wong’s Grass is Green, August Bournonville’s La Sylphide, and Val Caniparoli’s The Nutcracker. Alexis also performed as a Guest Company Artist with José Mateo Ballet Theatre for their 2023 production of The Nutcracker.

Alexis joined Ballet North Texas as a Company Artist in 2024. Alexis has danced title roles at BNT, including The Dew Drop Fairy in The Nutcracker and Kitri and Mercedes in Don Quixote. She has worked with several esteemed choreographers, including Penny Saunders, Carrie Ruth Trumbo, Mackenzie Jones, Natalie Anton, Sam Jones, and McKinley Danielle Willis.

Alexis is thrilled to be returning to Ballet North Texas for her second season!
