Dear Friends of the Ballet-
It saddens me to announce that for very good reasons, we are not able perform our scheduled Spring program of Cinderella at this time. At Ballet North Texas, we are committed to fostering the best health and safety practices. Both the Irving Arts Center and our organization recognize the wisely directed preventative measures that we have received from our city and state. We take the threat of COVID-19 seriously, and willingly join in all the suggested protocol by our health officials, in order to ensure our health, your health, and the health of our community.
To that end, a majority of the income for Ballet North Texas is generated through ticket sales, and with most production costs already being expended, the cancelling of Cinderella at this late date will greatly affect our organization's budget, and our future ability to produce the high quality productions for which we are known. We had previously scheduled to announce our next season on opening night of Cinderella, but due to current circumstances, the cancellation of the program, and the obvious change in budget, our announcement is being postponed until May.
We kindly ask that you consider donating the money you had previously put towards, or planned to put towards ticket money and performance fees to Ballet North Texas. Your gift will sustain us as an organization, and help keep us on track, moving forward as planned into our next season. Please consider the role you play, and know that any support at this vulnerable time means so much. Again, thank you for letting us bring joy, perspective, entertainment, and empowerment to our audiences and to our community. We look forward to seeing you at future performances and events.
