
BNT COMPANY DANCER
Originally from Seattle, Washington, Mackenzie began her ballet training at age 7 with Emerald Ballet Theater under the direction of Victoria Titova and Ballet Masters Roman Zinovyev and Tatiana Liabina. She then went on to join the Performance Division at Evergreen City Ballet under the direction of Kevin Kaiser and Gillmer Duran, continuing her training and choreographing several pieces for them. While with ECB, Mackenzie had the honor of working with many current and former PNB dancers and choreographers around the Seattle area including Julie Tobiason, Louise Nadeau and getting to dance a principal role in Kiyon Gaines’ A/Rythmia. Mackenzie has also had the opportunity to work closely with Lindsi Dec and Karel Cruz, former principals with Pacific Northwest Ballet, for many years and has trained both year round and attended winter and summer programs with DeCruz Ballet. She has also had the opportunity to attend summer programs with American Ballet Theater in New York, under the direction of Julie Kent, and ABT Florida, directed by Franco De Vita, as well as Ballet West with Peter Christie.
Mackenzie competed in Youth America Grand Prix from 2012-2015, placing second and first in the Pas De Deux category, third in the classical pre-competitive age division, top 12 in the junior classical and contemporary categories and top 12 in the senior classical and contemporary categories. She went on to compete in the New York City finals for four years.
Mackenzie joined BNT as an apprentice in 2020, became a resident choreographer for the company in 2023 and was promoted to company member that same year. Mackenzie’s title roles include; Kitri in Don Quixote, Sugar Plum Fairy & Dew Drop in The Nutcracker, Lilac Fairy and Fairy of Joy in The Sleeping Beauty, Hippolyta and Helena in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Toni Pimble’s Faces of Eve, Kiyon Gaines’ C’est 2, Balanchine’s Valse Fantaisie and Penny Saunders’ Sur Le Fil. She has also been privileged to work with and originate roles in Gabriel Speiller’s Shifting Slowly, Carrie Ruth Trumbo’s Circus, Sam Jones’ Changeling, McKinley Danielle’s This Could Have Been an Email and Hannah Knorr’s Preludes. More recently, Mackenzie had the honor of joining New Narratives Contemporary Dance, directed by Carrie Ruth Trumbo and Autumn Klein for their inaugural show here in Dallas.
As resident choreographer, Mackenzie has set four new works for the company titled Earnestly Yours, and Revenir for the 22/23 season, Frequency 434 for the 23/24 season and The Hourglass for the 24/25 season. She also teaches for BNT’s conservatory and choreographs for the students' competitions and festivals where several of her works have received top 25 at ADC/IBC and been recognized at YAGP, Washington DC Grand Prix and Icon Dance Awards.
