Sophia Castellano
Trainee
Sophia Castellano began her classical training at the Academy of Dance Arts in Tinton Falls, New Jersey. During her time there, she performed principal and soloist roles in productions including The Nutcracker, Giselle, Cinderella, and Balanchine works such as Who Cares?, Ballo della Regina, and Walpurgisnacht. She furthered her training through summer intensives at the School of American Ballet, The Rock School for Dance Education, and Carolina Ballet.
In 2023, Sophia joined Carolina Ballet’s Pre-Professional Division, where she rehearsed and performed with the company in The Nutcracker, Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, and other repertory. In 2025, she performed alongside Complexions Contemporary Ballet at the company’s anniversary gala at The Joyce Theater in New York City, dancing original choreography by Dwight Rhoden.
Sophia continued her professional training as a Contemporary Ballet Trainee with The Joffrey Ballet in Chicago for the 2025–2026 season. There, she performed in neoclassical world premieres, including A Strange House We Must Keep and Fill by Fran Díaz. Outside the studio, she is also a certified Pilates instructor and personal trainer.
Sophia is thrilled to begin her first season with Ballet North Texas.
