Sarah Nelson
Trainee
Sarah Nelson began dancing at the age of two, but did not begin rigorous classical training until she was fourteen at Colorado Ballet Society in Colorado Springs. She has since trained at Texas Youth Ballet, Hathaway Academy of Ballet, and Texas Ballet Theater's Professional Training Division, performing roles including Spanish Chocolate and Waltz of the Flowers in The Nutcracker, a Princess in Firebird, and Arabian with Collin County Ballet Theatre, along with La Bayadère and Mao's Last Dancer with the Plano Symphony. Her summer training includes intensives with BalletMet, Alabama Ballet, the University of Oklahoma, Texas Ballet Theatre, and Ballet North Texas. Sarah is also a pianist and composer — one of her original compositions was recently choreographed for a studio performance — as well as a visual artist. She is excited to be joining Ballet North Texas for her first season as a company trainee.
