Gabrielle English

Trainee

Gabby English is originally from Naples, Florida, where she trained at Backstage Dance Academy in ballet, pointe, contemporary, modern, jazz, and tap. In May 2026, she received her BFA in Dance Performance, BA in Psychology, and minor in History from Southern Methodist University, where she was also a member of the President’s Scholars Program. During her time at SMU, Gabby had the privilege of performing in works by George Balanchine (Concerto Barocco), Paul Taylor (Esplanade), August Bournonville (Napoli), José Limón (A Choreographic Offering), and David Parsons (The Envelope), among others. She also choreographed two contemporary pointe works during her time at SMU. While at SMU, she began her work at the DeGolyer Special Collections Library as an intern and now continues there in a professional role. Gabby has attended numerous summer intensives, including the Boca Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive, Paul Taylor Summer Intensive, Sarasota Ballet Summer Intensive, BalletX Summer Intensive, and Kansas City Ballet Summer Intensive.
