Diana Basaldua

Diana Basaldua is from Houston, Texas, and she has been dancing for 21 years. She
began her training at Ballet Center of Houston, under artistic director Victoria Vittum. She later
joined their pre-professional company: Houston Repertoire Ballet. Here, she enjoyed performing
the roles of Snow Queen and Dew Drop Fairy in the studio’s annual The Nutcracker. She also
had the opportunity to perform in ballets such as Giselle and Swan Lake, as well as various
contemporary pieces. Her training includes summer intensives, such as with Houston Ballet,
American Ballet Theatre, Texas Ballet Theater, The Rock School of Dance, Bolshoi Ballet
Academy, and multiple others.

After high school, Diana attended Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she
graduated with a BFA in Dance- Performance, a minor in Biology, and a minor in Chemistry.
With Butler Ballet, she performed annually in The Nutcracker and their productions of Giselle,
Swan Lake, and Cinderella. Her favorite role to perform was the lead in Flower Festival in
Genzano. After she graduated in 2024, Diana eagerly joined Ballet North Texas as a trainee.
She is looking forward to her third season with the company. When she is not dancing, Diana
enjoys reading, sewing, walking her dog, hanging out with friends, and trying new coffee shops.
