Carolann Byer

My name is Carolann, I have been dancing for ten years. Originally from Fort Wayne Indiana; I began my training and studying at Project Ballet under the direction of Beth McLeish. Performing in an original pas de deux choreographed by Jimmy Orrante, and an original Ballet piece choreographed by Melinda Howe. After graduating from high school, and attending various summer intensives, including Cincinnati Ballet, San Diego Ballet, New York Dance Project, and Texas Ballet Theater. I spent a year dancing in the Professional Training Division with Texas Ballet Theater, before joining the Studio Training Company. Under the directions of Kathy Warakomsky-Li and Lericia Oliveira. Currently I am with Ballet North Texas. This is my fourth consecutive season dancing and performing with being my second year as an apprentice. Performing in Don Quixote and in A Midsummer Night’s Dream has been a highlight of mine on the stage. I love pushing myself technically and within my artistry to become the best dancer I can be. I am so grateful for this art form as it helps strengthen me everyday and reminds me that I am a small part in something that is so much bigger than myself. In my free time I enjoy traveling and trying various foods. I am big on being close with my friends and family as I value supporting them as they do with me in so many aspects of my life.
