SOFIA REDFORD

BNT APPRENTICE
Originally from Vancouver, Canada, Sofia Redford received her foundational training at Canada’s National Ballet School in Toronto. She furthered her studies through summer programs, including English National Ballet, The Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington, D.C., and Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. Sofia also completed a one-year graduate program with Northern Ballet in Leeds, England.
In 2025, Sofia graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet Performance from the University of Oklahoma. While at OU’s School of Dance, her performance highlights included Falling Angels and Whereabouts Unknown by Jiří Kylián, Antique Epigraphs by Jerome Robbins (soloist), Serenade by George Balanchine (soloist), Doodle by Glenn Edgerton, and leading roles such as Sugar Plum Fairy and Dew Drop in The Nutcracker.
During her time at OU, Sofia also danced with the joint second company of Oklahoma City Ballet. With the company, she performed in full-length productions including Giselle (as a Wilis) and Swan Lake (as a Swan).
Sofia is thrilled to be joining Ballet North Texas for her first season as an apprentice and looks forward to an inspiring year of growth and performance with the company.
