Abbey Smith was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia, and began dancing at the age of two. Her training began in her hometown at a small studio where she trained with dancers from all over West Virginia. While in college in Gainesville, Georgia, she performed with the Gainesville Ballet Company as a member of the corps de ballet and featured soloist as well as performing in the dance department at Brenau University. Her favorite roles she has performed include The Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland and Spanish Soloist in The Nutcracker. Abbey also has a specialty in Appalachian Clogging and hopes to bring some of her West Virginia culture to all. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outside with her friends, reading, and continuing to exercise her creativity through sewing and crochet. She is excited to be joining Ballet North Texas for her first season as a trainee.
