GIANNA BIONDO

BNT COMPANY DANCER
Gianna Biondo- originally from Brooklyn, New York- began her serious ballet training at Manhattan Youth Ballet. While at MYB, she trained under: Deborah Wingert, Daniel Ulbricht, Erin Fogarty and Marina Stavitskaya. Gianna attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School for Music, Art and Performing Arts; here she expanded her modern dance background in the Graham and Horton techniques. She continued her studies at Indiana University Ballet Theater under the direction of: Michael Vernon, Sarah Wroth, Carla Korbes, Kyra Nichols, Sasha Janes and Christian Claessens. Some of Gianna’s favorite productions she participated in at IU include: George Balanchine’s Valse Fantaisie, Mark Morris’ Drink To Me Only With Thine Eyes, Christopher Wheeldon’s Carousel, and Michael Vernon’s The Nutcracker. Gianna graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Ballet Performance. She later accepted an apprenticeship with Avant Chamber Ballet. During their 2020-21 season, Ballet North Texas welcomed Gianna as a company dancer. Here she has had the opportunity to perform in various contemporary and classical works. Some of Gianna’s favorites from BNT include dancing the Sugar Plum Fairy and Snow Queen in Nicolina Lawson’s The Nutcracker. She’s excited to begin her third season with BNT!
