Heather Dods is from Dallas, Texas. She began her dance training at Chamberlain Performing Arts under the direction of Kathy Chamberlain and went on to attend Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts where she graduated with academic honors and departmental high honors. After high school, Heather continued her dance training at Adelphi University in New York where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance with a minor in Psychology. During her senior year, Heather was selected to represent Adelphi at the American College Dance Association Northeast Regional Conference and danced in their Gala Performance. Heather has attended summer intensives at Ballet Austin, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Boca Ballet Theatre. Her additional repertory includes pieces by Jiří Kylián, Martha Graham, Orion Duckstein, and classical works staged by Frank Augustyn.
